Let me tell you guys, this recipe is famous in our household. I grew up with this dish at every family function and to this day, someone’s always fighting over the last piece! I know it may sound like a crazy combination, but there’s just something about those three layers coming together all in one bite… the buttery pretzel crust, smooth and creamy center and refreshing raspberries to top it all off!
Hope you guys enjoy!

Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 container of cool whip
- 1 cup of butter
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 2 boxes raspberry jello
- Crushed pretzels
- Frozen raspberries
- 2 cups boiling water
Instructions
- Begin with cream cheese at room temperature and blend with cool whip.
- Preheat oven 375 degrees.
- Use a 9 x 13 pan and crush pretzels in zip lock bag and place crushed pretzel into the bottom of pan.
- Melt butter, add sugar and pour over pretzels and bake for 10 minutes. Remove pan and allow to cool.
- Spread cheese and cool whip mixture over baked pretzels. Be careful to spread and seal all edges so that your jello doesn't seep down to your pretzels. Wet your knife with warm water to help spread the cheese mixture.
- Bring your 2 cups of water to a boil. Pour in your jello and add frozen raspberries into the boiling water, remove from heat.
- Pour over cream cheese/cool whip mixture.
- Carefully place into refrigerator and allow to chill for several hours.
- Serve with a meal.
The picture has more than just raspberries. Do you just add other berries into the jello
We did a mix berry package – You can switch up the fruit!
I’ve been making this for years, one of our family favorites!♥️🍓
It is our favorite to make especially on the fourth!
I’ve been making this for 30 years! A family favorite for sure. 👌🏼
It is the BEST!❤️
Looks awesome! How many pretzels?
I typically eyeball it – just enough to make sure I cover the bottom of the 9×13 pan!
What size box of jello?
You can use 2 small boxes or 1 large box!
approximately how many pretzels? Just eyeballing it – thinking 2 cups?
Yes, I just eyeball it and just make sure I have enough to cover the 9×13 pan.
To make the recipe like the picture, would you use mixed frozen berries instead of just raspberries?
I used raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and pomegranates!
Can’t wait to make this on the 4th! 2 quick questions…is it the big or little box of jello? And how many cups of pretzels? Thank you!!
It is my favorite thing to make for the fourth ❤️ I do 2 small Jello boxes but you can just do 1 large jello box if you want! I typically eye ball how many pretzels I use, I just cover the bottom of my 9×13 pan.
How many cups of crushed pretzels? Is it too small boxes of Jell-O?Looks like in the picture you used blueberries blackberries raspberries strawberries and pomegranate who are these all fresh berries used? Thank you
For the pretzels I typically eye ball it and use enough to cover the bottom of your 9×13 pan! Yes, I use 2 small Jello boxes but you can also just use 1 large Jello box if you want! You can use whatever berries you want – I did blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and pomegranates!
Making it now.. had same questions but one more … how much frozen fruit??? (You’re dealing with ppl that need exact measurements!! Haha! )
Great content! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much ❤️
We make this every year as a side at thanksgiving but you’ve now
Inspired me to make it for a party I’m going to on the 4th. 🙌🇺🇸
You have to! It’s the best to have on the 4th 🤩
It turned out amazing! My family loved it. Will definitely be making this again!
That makes me so happy! So glad everyone loved it ❤️🙌🏼
Should the pretzels be unsalted?
It is really whatever you prefer!
How much of the frozen fruit do you use?
One package!
Should the pretzel base be a solid crust when it comes out of oven? Mine is soupy.
Yes! Make sure to pack in the pretzel!
Make sure you give the jello mixture time to cool to the consistency of egg white. It’s it’s too hot the cream cheese mixture will not stay settled. I know this from experience 😜
Do you pour the jello mixture layer on hot? Or let it cool down first, then pour over, then refrigerate?
Let it cool, then pour over and refrigerate!
Use either your two boxes of 3 ounce Jell-O or one 6 ounce box.
2 1/2 cups pretzels
